During the summer of 2018, my then boyfriend (now husband) and I embarked on an unforgettable journey through Porto, Portugal. The moment we arrived, we were captivated by all of the gorgeous and note-worthy Porto Instagram spots.
As we planned our trip, we were determined to uncover Porto’s most picturesque locations and share their beauty with our friends and family on Instagram.
We scoured the web for recommendations and stumbled upon a treasure trove of the coolest Porto Instagram spots, which we couldn’t wait to explore.
The Best Porto Instagram Spots
To enhance our experience and ensure we captured the essence of these incredible spots, we discovered a unique Airbnb Experience that perfectly blended our love for exploration and visual storytelling.
Maksym, a talented photographer and local guide, offered a PhotoWalk experience through Airbnb that promised to show us Porto through the art of his photography. Intrigued by this, we booked a session to join Maksym for a couples photoshoot.
This experience is one of our most cherished memories from our travels.
Casa da Música
Casa da Música, with its striking modern architecture, offers a captivating setting that makes it an ideal place to take photos. Start your day of Porto Instagram spots at this iconic music hall.
This Porto monument offers a unique and modern photo backdrop and is starkly different than the rest of your photos you will have from Porto!
Casa da Música offers great musical performances. Check out Casa da Música on TripAdvisor here!
Jardins do Palácio de Cristal
This park is stunning. Experiencing it for the first time during a photoshoot was interesting and gave us pictures we wouldn’t be able to take on our own.
This enchanting park offers a myriad of picturesque vistas, making it a photographer’s (or Instagrammer’s) dream. As you wander through the park’s winding paths, you will be greeted by vibrant flower beds, manicured gardens, and lush greenery.
The Streets of Porto
Some of the greatest Porto Instagram spots are not even “spots”. The streets of Porto themselves offer authentic and captivating backdrops for photos full of character!
With their narrow cobblestone lanes, colourful facades, and charming architectural details, Porto’s streets exude a sense of timeless beauty.
Portugal’s streets are full of photo opportunities. You will not be disappointed.
I also recommend checking out Lisbon for some quality Instagram spots!
You’re probably reading this like… “Huh?? Joanna, what are you talking about?”
LISTEN!! The trams are GREAT Porto Instagram spots. Just see for yourself how cool they are.
They give me music video vibes, so pensive, haha.
Of course, you have to pose in front of them too!!
Douro River & Ribeira
There are many places to take breathtaking photos along the Douro River.
Colourful buildings, terracotta rooftops, and charming riverside promenades are a wonderful background for your Instagram photos.
The Douro River is my top Porto Instagram spot! Photographs near the Douro River can have many backdrops; the river itself, the buildings beside the river and Dom Luís I Bridge.
Dom Luís I Bridge
Dom Luís I Bridge is a famous bridge above the Douro River in Porto. The architectural details of this bridge is amazing as a backdrop to your Instagram photos.
Just see for yourself…
Spending time taking photos here was one of my favourite experiences from this trip. I have most of these photos printed in my house and plastered all over my Instagram.
If I could spend all of my summer days and nights down by the Douro River I would. I someday dream of retiring in this town and enjoying the views, wine and delicious food.
Porto holds a very special place in my heart. I can’t wait to return again & again.
Pin it for later!
It is the most beautiful trip I have experienced and I hope to share it’s beauty with you in my current Porto blog posts and posts to come!
Thank you Maksym!
